As for reading date codes on Holley carbs, there are 3 digit dates and 4 digit dates. The 3 digit dates lasted until about 1973. The first digit is the year. 6 = 1966, 0 = 1970. The second digit is the month. 2 = February, 9 = September, 0 (for 10) = October. The last two months used letters, A = November, B = December.

The 4053 carbs were built in batches and I've seen several 4053's with this date stamp. Now, I'm not sure when the batch before that was built, or the batch after that, but usually, the Holley carbs are a few days to several weeks ...
