Also, drain the oil after the rear end is warm, everything will drain easier.Both the front and rear diffs take just short of that amount. The rear diff with a stock cover is 6.4 pints which is just short of 4 qts when properly filled to GM spec. The front IIRC correctly is 3.7 pints or just short of 2 qts so with the 6 you have you are just fine. The 6 gallons will be plenty for you to flush the trans. :wink
